Some history …
The history of medical education in Grodno region starts from the 18th century when Grodno Medical Academy was founded. It was the first medical institution of higher education on the territory of modern Belarus. The Academy had an anatomic theatre, an anatomic museum, Natural History Museum, a scientific medical library, a botanic garden. A well-known French scientist J.-E. Gilibert (1741-1814) was the founder of the Academy.
